New EAA Student Membership FAQ
Back to Student Membership
What is the new EAA Student Membership?
The new EAA Student Membership is available to young people ages 17 and under, with the primary audience being 13- to 17-year olds. Each Student Member will receive a kit full of aviation tools and resources, access to a Student Members-only website, access to scholarships and tuition programs, and most of the benefits of adult EAA membership, with the exception of the Sport Aviation magazine.

Can I purchase an EAA Student Membership for a youth who is not my child?
Yes. Activation takes place online through the unique activation code included in each Student Membership Kit. This means you can purchase the kit for any youth age 17 or under as a gift, and let them sign up online at a later date. Their membership will not officially begin until that time.

What happens to the current EAA Junior Membership?
Beginning November 1, 2007, the current EAA Junior Membership will no longer be offered. Junior Members ages 17 and under will be eligible to sign up for the new Student Membership. Junior Members ages 18 and older will be required to renew as adult Individual Members.

Changes to existing Junior Memberships will begin with memberships that expire in February 2008. Memberships that expire prior to February 2008 will be able to renew the same Junior Membership for one additional year.

What if my child is already under my EAA Family Membership?
Beginning November 1, 2007, the EAA Family Membership will be realigned to an “Individual plus Spouse” membership and will no longer include dependent children. Youths included under an EAA Family Membership will maintain their membership until that membership term expires. Children ages 17 and under have the option of becoming a new Student Member and receive a suite of benefits specifically designed for youth.

Changes to existing Family Memberships will begin with memberships that expire in February 2008. Memberships that expire prior to February 2008 will be able to renew the same Family Membership (adult-spouse and children—$50) for one additional year.

If I have an EAA Family Membership, does my child receive an EAA Student Membership Kit?
EAA Student Membership Kits are only available to youths who join as EAA Student Members. Youths currently included under an EAA Family Membership will have access to the Student Members-only website during the remainder of their membership term, but will not receive the Student Membership Kit. If they renew their membership under the new Student Membership program, they will receive the EAA Student Membership Kit.

How does my child access the new Student Members-Only website?
On November 1, 2007, they will be able to access the Student Members-Only website at www.youngeagles.org. Your child will need to enter their last name, member number and join date to log on to the website.
